Bout Summary
A cut opened over the right eye of Alvarado in the opening round. In Round 2, Alvarado was staggered by jab and was caught again later in the round. The two traded power shots to close the second round. A right hand from Alvarado hurt Rios in the last minute of the third round. Action was paused in the fifth to allow Alvardo time to recover from a low blow. By the end of the fifth, Alvarado's face was swollen and marked. Alvarado utilized more movement in the second half of the fight and each man had his moments landing with solid power punches. A large cut opened to Alvarado's left eye in the final round and by the end of the fight he had significant swelling and bruising to both eyes. Rios had swelling and slight brusing to his left eye.
