Twice german amateur champion in heavyweight and silvermedal in european heavyweight amateur championship 1927 in Berlin. Competed in the 1928 Olympics. Died 18 february 1945 when the german hopspitalship "General Steuben" was scuttled outside Pillau(Baltic Sea) during World War II.
