"Scrappy Italian challenger Bruno Arcari, Saturday night snatched the WBC's junior welterweight crown from Filipino Pedro Adigue with a 15-round decision. Arcari ended the fight with both eyebrows and his nose bleeding. Adigue had to sweat up to the last hour to make the 140-pound limit and came in 7 ounces under it. Arcari, however, had no trouble, checking in at 138 1/2." -Associated Press
