(Buck) Boyle a former Allentown police captain, and a nephew of George (Buck) Boyle founder and director of the Downtown Youth Center in Allentown. He was known better as Buck Boyle out of the ring. Boyle entered politics in 1966, and unsuccessfully challenged incumbent Democratic United States congressman Fred B. Rooney in Pennsylvania's 15th district Democratic primary. Boyle operated several taverns in Allentown, most notably Boyle's Café.

Boyle was reportedly the uncle of fellow Allentown boxer Billy Buck, who was a preliminary boxer while Boyle was active, and later fought as Billy (Buck) Boyle in the early 1930s after obtaining main event status. It appears that Bucky Boyle retired after his Christmas Day 1929 loss.
