"Italy's Aldo Traversaro grabbed the vacant European light heavyweight title Saturday with a TKO over Bunny Johnson of Britain in the 11th round. Traversaro hunched over and held his gloves in front of his face until the 10th round when he went wild repeatedly connecting with heavy right hooks. Johnson seemed cooler and fought with a more elegant style until the 10th when he apparently succumbed to fatigue. By the 11th round, Traversaro was completely on the attack. The referee finally called the fight after giving Johnson his third standing eight-count in the same round." -United Press International
