After a slow first round, a straight right hand sent Sala on his way to the canvas, as he was falling, Olson added a left hook. Sala took a nine count, and after he rose, he ran into a barrage of rights and lefts. Olson finally landed another right hand, that put Sala down for the count.
After the bout, Sala claimed that he had been made "dopey" by gas fumes in his dressing room before the bout.
Gate: $27,056, undoubtedly helped out by the appearance of Heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano refereeing an undercard bout.
