  • Date: 1952-05-19
  • Location: Eastern Parkway Arena, Brooklyn, New York, USA
  • Referee: Ray Miller

"Matchmaker Teddy Brenner offered Carl (Bobo) Olson of Hawaii another fight today at the Eastern Parkway Arena because of his impressive New York debut at the Arena last night. Olson, a surprisingly good boxer-puncher, scored an upset TKO over Walter Cartier of New York at 1:01 of the 5th round. Cartier, favored at 7-5, was floored for a count of nine by a straight right to the button at the close of the 4th round. And he was given such a severe battering in the 5th that referee Ray Miller stopped the bout." -United Press

  • "Walter hit me the hardest punch of my life in the 4th round - a right to the chin - just before I floored him. It was harder than any punch landed by Sugar Ray Robinson in our two fights." -Bobo Olson
