This was a hotly contested and closely fought bout, fought evenly in the center of the ring, with Thompson and Dunstan engaging in furious exchanges of power shots for all twelve rounds. Thompson landed power counter shots frequently to match Dunstan's aggressiveness. With 30 seconds left in the bout, Thompson landed a perfect left hook and Dunstan fell to the canvas face first.
