Quintana, claiming to be a descendent of Aztec chief Montezuma, "leaped into the ring wearing a tribal headgear replete with eagle feathers. After making a solemn bow he went into a Cholu war dance, waved a couple of times at the customers, made another bow and sat down." Montreal Gazette.
This bout was part of the second round of the world's bantamweight elimination tournament, which was sanctioned by the National Boxing Association and the Montreal Athletic Commission.
