Carlos Palomino 149 lbs beat Rene Arredondo 149 lbs by KO at 1:33 in round 1 of 10

"It took Westminster's Carlos Palomino longer to make his way into the ring than it did to polish off Mexico's Rene Arredondo in a scheduled 10 round junior middleweight fight Sunday night at the Hollywood Palladium. Palomino waited for an opening and then jumped on Arredondo. Two left hooks to the body and left hook to the head backed Arredondo up. Then, Palomino exploded with a right to Arredondo's chin. Arredondo fell flat on his rear, his eyes in a daze and was counted out by referee Marty Denkin at 1:33 of the 1st round." -The Orange County Register

  • The co-main event on this card featured Gerrie Coetzee against Iran Barkley.
