Percy Hayles 136 lbs lost to Chango Carmona 134 lbs by RTD in round 4 of 10

"There wasn't any damage done in the opening round, but Percy Hayles, 135 1/2, stepped up the pace in the 2nd and beat Chango Carmona, 133 1/2, to the punch with his flicking left. It was a slugfest all the way in the 3rd round. Hayles landed more often but Carmona put more steam behind his blows and got in some solid body blows that were the beginning of the end for Hayles. Carmona stayed on top of Hayles in the 4th and unleashed more fire power. Before they could come out for the 5th, Hayles decided he wasn't able to continue. At first it was thought that Hayles had suffered a broken nose, but that wasn't the case. He just couldn't breathe and rather than take a chance of getting hurt badly, Hayles thought it wiser to quit. Judge Robert Lopez had Carmona in front at that stage of the fight, Judge Eddie Lopez had Hayles ahead by the same one point margin and Referee Leonard Zuniga had the bout scored even, so it was anybody's ball game if it had continued." -San Antonio Light
