Charley Burley 153 lbs beat Billy Soose 156 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10

"Billy Soose, Ex-Penn State College boxing luminary who has been making rapid advances in the ring game, ran afoul of a two-fisted battler who knew all the answers in Charley Burley here tonight. And when it was all over Burley had run off with a clean-cut 10 round decision over Soose. Early in the first round it was quite evident that Burley, a master boxer, and a puncher of equal facility carried too many guns for Soose. Burley had Soose in a bad way on several occasions throughout the one-sided fight. Soose's biggest rounds were the 4th and 10th when he got his long-range right hand working almost to perfection with two sharp blows sending Burley back on his heels. The triumph was an all the more remarkable one for Burley because of the fact that Charley is a natural welterweight while Soose is a middleweight." -Monessen Daily Independent
