Charley Fusari vs. Tony Pellone (2nd meeting)
Tony Pellone 147 lbs lost to Charley Fusari 148 lbs by TKO at 0:44 in round 10 of 10
- Date: 1950-10-18
- Location: Chicago Stadium, Chicago, Illinois, USA
- Referee: Johnny Behr
"Charlie Fusari from Irvington, N.J., once again rated as one of the major welterweight contenders today after his 10th round TKO win over tough Tony Pellone. Fusari had his difficulties with Pellone, who took a split decision from Fusari in New York three years ago. But Fusari, at 148 pounds, came in fast in the final round Wednesday night as Pellone tired. He drove the 146 1/2 pound Tony all around the ring before toppling him at 1:44 of the 10th. Pellone got to his feet at the count of nine but obviously was unable to continue as referee Johnny Behr stopped the brawl. Earlier, Pellone confused Fusari with his ducking and bobbing and Fusari was unable to connect. Instead, he took plenty of blows from Pellone. But Pellone didn't have the power for a knockout punch." -United Press
