"Charley Joseph was back in good standing with local boxing fans following his 10 round victory over Al 'Tiger' Williams in the Coliseum Arena. The Tiger had upset Joseph in a previous fight, but there was no question as to Joseph's superiority in the encore. Joseph ripped Williams' eye in the 5th, and the flow of blood from the injury appeared to handicap the California middleweight.
