  • Date: 1927-11-09
  • Location: Auditorium, Oakland, California, USA
  • Colima dominated the first four rounds, as Colima hit him frequently with both hands. In the 5th round, on the advice of his trainer Walter Coffey, Long switched his attack to the body, as Colima showed signs of wilting. Long returned to the body in the 6th round, and dropped Colima with a right hand to the pit of the stomach with around a minute left in the round. Colima rose at the count of six, but was dropped for the count by a left hand to the solarplexus. Colima's manager Dutch Meyers claimed a foul, but was unable to find anyone of importance to vouch for him.
