According to an undated item in the September 15, 1931 edition of Shamokin Dispatch (Shamokin, Pennsylvania) on Newspapers.com, Charles Mulhall, "famous lightweight boxer of former years," died at Atlantic City last week "following an attack of apoplexy." After retiring from the ring, he resided in Lansford, Pennsylvania where he was in the hotel business. He was survived by a widow, several children, a brother and a sister.

According to his registration card in the U.S., World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918 database on Ancestry.com, one Charlie Andrew Mulhall, a 38-year-old "miner," was born on May 1, 1880 and resided in Lansford, Pennsylvania at the time of his registration on September 12, 1918. His wife was Sallie Mulhall.
