"Charley Riley, St. Louis featherweight, won a unanimous 10 round decision over Cuban lightweight champion Miguel Acevedo before 6,200 fans at Kiel Auditorium here last night. The hard-hitting St. Louis negro was the master throughout. Acevedo, shuffling in rumba style, could do nothing more than tie Riley into knots. In the 10th Riley staggered Miguel with a long left hook to the jaw and a right that bounced off the Havana boy's left eye." -Associated Press
