Charley Wormley won the 1957 New York Golden Gloves 147lb Sub-Novice Championship. Wormley defeated future World Champion Emile Griffith of the West 28th Street Parks Department Gym in the finals to win the Championship. Wormley trained at the Salem Crescent Athletic Club in New York City.
