- A young 19-year-old Laverne Collier, son of a Pocatello railroad conductor, did in fact fight the future World Champion Jack Dempsey.
- Jump ahead 43 years later, December of 1958, when Dempsey again visited Pocatello and talked about his 1915 bout which was a four-rounder.
- In later years a local promoter revealed that Geronimo was an alias used by 19-year-old Laverne Collier, son of a Pocatello railroad conductor.
- Collier was later to serve in U. S. Army in Europe during the First World War. After the war, he began a career in newspaper management.
- He moved from California to Miami, Florida in the early 1920s and was killed in 1926 when his auto collided with a freight train.
