"Philippine lightweight champion Bert Somodio scored a split decision over Cisco Andrade in a 10-round non-title bout Saturday night at the Araneta Coliseum. The Philippine champ, bleeding profusely from a cut over his left eye, was loudly booed when the referee raised his hand. The 31-year old Andrade, who was a 6-5 favorite, suffered a one-inch cut over the left eye after Somodio landed a left and right in the 8th round. But it was Andrade who first opened a cut below Somodio's left eye with a hard right in the 5th round. -United Press International
