"Cleveland (Big Cat) Williams of Houston won a unanimous 10 round heavyweight decision over Wayne Bethea of New York Tuesday night in the main event of a six bout card at the Coliseum. Williams, 212, carried the fight most of the time to the 208 pound Bethea. Williams started fast and strong and probably had his best round in the 2nd when he pinned the New Yorker to the ropes for a full half minute with a flurry of lefts and rights. A crowd of about 5,000 saw the Big Cat win his 50th pro bout in 54 starts." -United Press International
