"A 15 pound weight advantage coupled with a stinging left jab and superior boxing ability gave Louis (Kid) Cocoa of Hartford, Conn., a 10 round decision last night over Chalky Wright of Los Angeles. The Kid, weighing 145 against 130 for Wright, took a majority decision. Two judges gave him the nod, while the third called the battle a draw. Wright won the first two rounds, then took the worst of things until the 9th as Cocoa got his jab working. Wright mixed at close range in the 9th and 10th frames to outfight his opponent.
