  • Fight was on the undercard of Vernon Paris vs. Manuel Perez.
  • Smith entered with a record of 0-2-1 in his previous three bouts and had not won since July of 2011.
  • Lock was ruled down in Round 4, although video showed the Smith's punch was blocked and Lock tripped over his opponent's foot. He was again ruled down in Round 5, when his foot was stepped on as he was punching causing him to trip.
  • Smith was deducted a point in the tenth round.
