- The 1926-8-7 Oneonta Daily Star reported a 3-round KO win for Owens over Jack Renault, Owens's 39th KO in 54 fights, said to have occurred the previous Wednesday at the Montreal Arena. This fight can not be verified by contemporary Montreal newspapers and is therefore excluded from both fighters' records.
