  • Aired On: NBC Sports Net (Main Event)
  • NABF Middleweight Title (Vacant title)

Summary

New York's Curtis Stevens floored veteran Saul Roman twice in the opening round to claim his third first-round knockout win in four fights since returning from a two-year layoff.

A combination staggered Roman in the opening minute of the fight and a clean counter left hook from Stevens sent Roman down on his backside for a count of seven.

The two men exchanged power shots after the knockdown, before Stevens again connected with a crisp left hand that put Roman flat on his back and out cold. The referee waved an end to the bout without beginning a count. Roman, who was kept down for a few minutes, was helped to a stool and appeared clear-eyed after the bout.

It was the seventh knockout loss of Roman's professional career.
