Dallas Bateman was killed on August 28, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Adam Imthurn was arrested for murder, but subsequently released. Bateman had been a taxi cab driver in Salt Lake City prior to his death. It was revealed in the September 23, 1932 Deseret News that Bateman was occupying a hotel room with Imthurn's wife, where the homicide occured, and that the killing was "justifiable homicide."
