"Dan Bucceroni, 185, Philadelphia, blasted Danny Nardico, 175 1/4, with chopping, inside lefts and rattling rights, dropping the Tampa, Fla., gamester for a nine-count in the 10th and last round to win a unanimous decision tonight in a gruelling battle. The Philadelphia heavyweight with height, reach and weight on the swarming Nardico, controlled the head-to-head battling through the early rounds. Although he tired in the late rounds against his foe, Bucceroni almost ended the fight with a smashing right over Nardico's ear in the 10th. Nardico bounced up quickly while referee Ruby Goldstein gave him the automatic eight-count before allowing the fight to continue. Giving away height and weight, Nardico simply was not equipped to fight inside against the sharp-shooting Bucceroni." -Associated Press
