He is best known for winning the BBBofC Scottish Area Welterweight Championship by defeating Willie Whyte on the 3 October 1953. He also played football for Stenhousemuir Football Club.
Personal Life
Danny was born in Stripside, Denny, near Falkirk and is the eldest of 4 siblings. His family emigrated to Canada in the early 1960's, Danny being the only one who stayed in Scotland. He married Elizabeth (nee McCulloch) on the 22 May 1953 and they have three children (Ann, Helen and Thomas). Danny also has four grandchildren (Lauren, Daniel, Caitlyn and Thomas). He currently (2011) lives now in Haggs, Bonnybridge. He has a cousin also named Danny Malloy who was also a professional footballer. In March 2011, Danny was honoured by Falkirk Council after receiving a street named after himself "Malloy Court" in Denny.
