According to the Aug. 29, 1928 Wenatchee Daily World (Wenatchee, WA, USA), reporting on Gene Tunney's marriage engagement at Bristol, Maine, many years earlier Curtis and Dixie Bull had fought to the finish for 72 rounds with bare hands, on nearby Johns Island. Bull was slain.
