Danny Giovanelli of Brooklyn outpointed the Dane campaigning in the US Christian Christensen over 10 rounds. Both held a furious pace and looked death tired by the 6th round. Christensen was floored twice during the fight, but referee Ray Miller refused to count them as knockdowns. The Ring, June 1955, criticized him for that: The slip in the 6th was really a hard left hook, the push in the 8th was a series which beat Christensen through the ropes. Giovanelli nearly stopped Christensen in round 10.
