In another bout on the same card, Panama's light and welterweight champion Roberto (Tito) Marshal, 140, outpointed Dave Charnley, 138 1/4, over 10 closely-fought rounds to virtually end the British champion's hopes of an early crack at Carlos Ortiz' world lightweight crown.
