Day, floored for a nine count in the 2nd, came back strongly to outscore his foe. He staggered Marquart in the 5th and 6th rounds with short rights and opened a cut under Marquart's eye. Day was effective with short punches, while Marquart relied chiefly on left hooks and sweeping rights. Day landed more frequently and effectively." -Associated Press
