"Davey Day, Chicago's flashy lightweight, floored Tommy Speigal of Uniontown, Pa., twice last night, then boxed off a brilliant late rally to win a unanimous decision in 10 rounds. Day, 135, who has lost but one fight in his last 30, sent Speigal, 134, reeling to the canvas twice in the 2nd round. After the Uniontown fighter weathered that storm, he had little trouble lasting the distance. In fact, he rallied to take the 8th and 9th rounds, while Day's seconds claimed their man hurt his right hand in the 2nd round." -Associated Press
