Davey Moore 129 lbs beat Bobby Neill 129 lbs by TKO at 2:55 in round 1 of 10
- Date: 1959-10-20
- Location: Empire Pool, Wembley, London, United Kingdom
- Referee: Tommy Little
Neill was knocked down four times.
"World featherweight champion Davey Moore took just 2:55 to batter Bobby Neill, British titleholder, to a humiliating defeat Tuesday night. Neill had no time to show anything but courage. Four times Neill was smashed to the canvas only to hoist himself painfully back into a battle that was never more than a massacre. Near tears in his dressing room after referee Tommy Little mercifully stopped the fight with five seconds of the 1st round still to go, the plucky little Scot said he had no plans to quit the ring." -Associated Press
- Negotiations were underway at this time for Moore to defend his featherweight title next against European champion Gracieux Lamperti. However, Lamperti lost a 12 round title eliminator to Percy Lewis in January of 1960, which scuttled the match.
