"Charley Riley, once tabbed "Chillin' Charley" when he made his big bid among the featherweights, looked like he was near the end of the road last night as he lost a split decision to young Davey Moore in a 10 round feature bout. Riley, a hometown favorite, dropped Moore for an automatic eight-count with a good right hand in the 7th, but was knocked off his feet himself in the 9th. The punch rocked Riley, who dropped to one knee, but he was up before referee Jimmy Parker started the count." -Associated Press
