Davey Moore 129 lbs lost to Jackie Blair 129 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10

“In one of the best bouts seen in Akron in many years, Jackie Blair, 129 ½, Dallas, and Davey Moore, 128, Springfield, Ohio, boxed a ten round scorcher. Blair was declared the winner after much confusion in the ring. The first four rounds found Moore hitting Blair with many hard lefts and rights where he (Blair) was forced to clinch and hold on. In the fifth, Blair began to outbox Moore with long left jabs. The sixth followed the same pattern with Blair scoring with his educated left hand. The seventh heat produced many thrills as the crowd stood and cheered for the full three minutes as both boys stung each other. In the eighth, ninth, and tenth, it was Davey Moore coming in all the time scoring with stiff left hooks to the body. Blair ran and tried to keep the hard punching former Olympic champion off. The bout ended with both boys slugging toe-to-toe amid cheers from the crowd.”
