At the end of the round Moore shook Maeki with a pair of uppercuts to the jaw.
In the 2nd round Moore jabbed and floored the Finn with a right cross to the jaw, his first. Maeki was up at 5. A new combination put Maeki down again. After the third knockdown, referee Barney Ross stopped the fight.
The Finnish press had speculated that Moore would have problems with the cold climate of the early Scandinavian autumn, but according to Boxing News 24,August 1962, Davey wasn't required to stay in the ring long enough to be affected by anything.
Trivia: It was exactly 10 years since Moore boxed in Helsinki. He was in the 1952 Olympics here, reaching round 3 in the bantamweight tournament.
