David Tetteh 135 lbs lost to Billy Irwin 135 lbs by MD in round 12 of 12

  • Commonwealth (British Empire) Lightweight Title (1st defense of Tetteh)

Notes

  • Tetteh kept the pressure up, landing short single punches to the head and body. Irwin tried to fight it out inside early, but was outpunched. Irwin then tried to box – but was still outpunched and outworked as both took turns throwing quick single shots. As the rounds wore on, Irwin became more and more inactive while Tettah utilized a quick jab from the outside. Irwin's best moment came in round 9, as he staggered Tettah with a hook but he could not finish his opponent off.
  • The decision was met with a mixed reaction from the mostly partisan Irwin crowd.
