Biography
Dean Lonergan is one of New Zealand’s most high profile and respected opinion leaders in sports and major events. Following a distinguished Rugby League career, representing New Zealand and playing in the NRL with the Canberra Raiders, he launched a successful business career combining his love of sport with his passion for philanthropy. He is responsible for the “Fight for Life” charity boxing initiative, pioneered the practice of bringing Australian Rugby League games to New Zealand and, alongside David Higgins, was a driving force in the development and delivery of the hugely successful NRL Auckland Nines and Duco Events.
