- Ennis warned in the 1st Round for low blows.
- Commings was hurt in the 1st Round by a straight right hand and again by a left hook.
- Commings down in the 2nd Round from an accumulation of punches. He made it to his feet at the count of 8, but the ref stopped the fight as Commings was yelling the count back at the referee.

Comments:
- Commings charged out at the opening bell a missed with a wild right hand. Ennis responded by attacking and nearly dropping Commings in the first 15 seconds.
- This fight was a complete mismatch and one that likely should not have occurred. At the end of the 1st Round, Commings flopped on the ropes as if to say he was spent and glad to last the round.
- The announcers quoted Roland Commings as saying that if he won the fight he would "... give up smoking and drinking."
