Dick Roche

Dick Roche was a millionaire who backed prizefighters Nonpareil Jack Dempsey and Jack McAuliffe, among others.

Roche was born 1847 in Liverpool, England, and moved to Detroit, Michigan at an early age. He died Nov. 13, 1917, in New York after a long illness. He was 70.
