"World middleweight champion Dick Tiger of Nigeria knocked out West Germany's Peter Mueller Friday night in the 3rd round of a non-title bout. Tiger, 162 3/4, floored Mueller, 158 1/4, after :57 seconds in the 3rd round with a left hook. In the 3rd round, Mueller stormed into the attack and met disaster. Tiger, standing in a neutral corner, caught the onrushing Mueller with hooks to the body and finished him off with a left hook to the chin. Mueller sagged to the canvas in a sitting position and was counted out." -United Press International
