"Middleweights Rory Calhoun, 162, and Dick Tiger, 162, dawdled through 10 rounds Friday night with Calhoun taking a split and disputed decision. The fight bore little resemblance to the exciting draw the two fought five weeks ago in New York's MSG. The slim crowd booed and clapped for action at the end of the 6th, 8th and 9th rounds. Calhoun counter-punched effectively winning the last three rounds on the judges cards." -Associated Press
- Both the AP and the UPI both unofficially scored the bout 5-3-2 for Tiger
Post-fight comments

- "I know the fight didn't make me look good but it takes two to make a bout and I was the only one fighting." -Rory Calhoun
