Domenico Monaco was a two time New York Golden Gloves Champion. He boxed out of the West Side Athletic Club in New York City. Monaco won the 1971 135lb Sub-Novice Championship defeating Jerry McCloskey in the finals and the 1973 135lb Open Championship when he defeated Johnny Turner of the Police Athletic League in the finals.
