Don Eagle won the Golden Gloves Heavyweight Championshionship in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1945. He then won 22 professional bouts, 17 by KO. A hand injury caused by an accidental shot inflicted upon himself while on a hunting trip ended his boxing career. He then became a successful wrestler. Eagle was of First Nations ancestry and was reportedly a member of the Iroquois tribe.
