"Don Fullmer scored a 10-round split decision over top-ranked light heavyweight contender Andy Kendall, 174 3/4, here Saturday night. In a bout marked by frequent butting and clinching, Fullmer, 176, of Salt Lake City, upset Kendall by utilizing effective body punches. Fullmer opened a cut on his opponent's right eyebrow in the 2nd round and lacerated his left eyebrow in the 3rd round enroute to the victory over Kendall." -United Press International
