"West Jordan's Don Fullmer, 160, evened a score with clever Teddy Wright, 164, here Friday night as he clubbed out a unanimous 10-round decision at Weber State College Gymnasium. Fullmer, top-ranked middleweight challenger by the WBA was just too strong for his heavier opponent. Fullmer left little doubt who was the better man Friday. There were no knockdowns in Friday's fight and neither battler was marked badly. Fullmer received a slight cut on his eye in the 8th round, but it didn't seem to bother him. Although Fullmer dominated the fight throughout, Wright never seemed in serious trouble. He reeled from a good combination by Fullmer in the 9th, but recovered and was landing good punches before the round ended." -Ogden Standard-Examiner
- This card was a benefit sponsored by the Ogden Lion's Club
- Although the winner of this bout was promised a title shot at the winner of the upcoming bout between champion Nino Benvenuti and Emile Griffith, the title changed hands and a rematch was involved before Fullmer finally received his opportunity in December of '68.
