Don Mouton was born in Houston, Texas, and grew up in the heart of C. E. King. In 2002 Don Mouton was afflicted by a gunshot wound to the head, for the first time having a sense of being violated. Feeling helpless, seeing fear in his mother’s eyes gave him the motivation and passion to prepare for the road to a championship career in boxing.
Mouton began his amateur boxing career under the guidance of trainer G. Bustamante, but soon decided to adjust his training partner. “Your trainer is a big part of your corner, and can determine whether you win or lose a fight” says Mouton. Subsequently, in 2007 Mouton began his professional training at Ultimate Warriors boxing club gym under the guidance of Nolberto A. Blanco, an influential figure on the North side of Houston in boxing. Blanco worked Mouton hard, often having Mouton spar with 5 partners 4 rounds each.
Don Mouton has won numerous trophies and medals including the Golden Glove Champion Texas in 2003. In 2006, Mouton won his first two professional bouts by the way of knock out. In his boxing years, Mouton record is 9-4-1 with 8 KO’s. Between May of 2008 and February of 2009, Mouton had five of his most stimulating fights, where he won four of five of those matches.
