"Italy's Duilio Loi scuccessfully defended his world junior welterweight crown Saturday night, battling challenger Eddie Perkins of Chicago to a 15 round draw. The bout, watched by 15,000 fans, was held at Milan Sports Palace. The crowd booed and whistled throughout the match, calling both to show more fighting spirit. In the 9th round, Italian referee Nello Barrovecchio stepped in to warn both boxers to show more aggressiveness." -Associated Press
