"Eddie Cotton of Seattle stopped Andy Kendall of Scapoose, Ore., in 10 rounds Thursday night at the Seattle Coliseum. Kendall, 172, was bleeding profusely from a cut over the right eye when the ring physician stopped the fight after the 10th round. Cotton, 174 1/2, dropped Kendall with a short left hook just before the end of the 10th. Kendall got up at the count of nine, after the bell, and was helped to his corner." -Associated Press
- Referee Pat McMurtry penalized Kendall one point in the 4th round and two points in the 8th. All for low blows.
